Bei uns im Büro über den Dächern von Potsdam wird Dir die spannende Möglichkeit geboten praktische Erfahrung in einem dynamischen Umfeld zu sammeln und Dich aktiv in unsere Projekte einzubringen. Du wirst den Bereich Entwicklung mit deinen Programmierkenntnissen unterstützen.

Deine Aufgaben

Unterstützung bei der Backend Entwicklung der Vorhersage-Plattform
Unterstützung bei der Nutzer- und Datenverwaltung
Unterstützung bei API Design und Entwicklung

Deine Qualifikationen

Derzeit eingeschriebener Bachelor- oder Masterstudiengang in Informatik, Physik, Mathematik oder ähnlichen Bereichen
Grundlegende Programmierkenntnisse in einer Backend-Sprache (z.B. Python)
Hoch motiviert und daran interessiert, Neues zu lernen
Fließendes Englisch in Wort und Schrift ist ein plus

Darüber hinaus wäre es wünschenswert, eine oder mehrere der folgenden Fähigkeiten zu besitzen:

Erfahrung in der Anwendung von git
Grundkenntnisse in HTML, CSS und JavaScript/TypeScript
Vertrautheit mit einem Frontend-Framework (React, Angular, Vue, Next)
Erste Erfahrungen mit Test-, Build- und Deployment-Automatisierung (CI/CD)

Die 4Cast GmbH & Co KG ist ein junges Joint Venture von Windkraft Pionieren und ML-Experten und der erste Ansprechpartner für Kurzfrist- als auch Langfrist-Prognosen.

Auf der einen Seite treibt 4cast Machine-Learning-basierte Prognosemethoden für den Energiemarkt voran und bietet ihre Fähigkeiten für die gezielte Softwareentwicklung an. Unser Ansatz setzt auf intelligente und adaptive Algorithmen. Präzise Ertragsvorhersagen sorgen dafür, dass erneuerbare Energien sinnvoll und nachhaltig auf den Markt gebracht werden können. About the job

Within the MAELSTROM EuroHPC research project (www.maelstrom-eurohpc.eu), we develop an Open Source end-to-end Machine Learning and AI toolkit. Our AI platform aims to let users manage and share their personal workflows dedicated to supercomputers, trained models and data in one place. Your work will help researchers perform their work more efficiently and shape how AI is used in weather and climate modeling.

Your tasks

Backend development of the platform
API design and development
Frontend development and maintenance for AI workflow, data and user management

Your profile

Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or similar fields
Basic programming skills in a backend language (e.g. Python)
Highly motivated and interested in learning new things
Fluent in verbal and written English; German language skills is a big plus

In addition, having any of the following skills would be highly desirable:

Experienced in the usage of git
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript/Type Script
Familarity with a frontend framework (React, Angular, Vue, Next)
First experience with test, build and deployment automation (CI/CD)
